A London-based writer of drama for stage and screen.
About me
I’m an American writer living in London, and I’m a graduate of the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama’s dramatic writing MFA program. I have experience writing in theatre, television, film, and radio.
I tend to write darkly comic things. Satirical things. Capitalism-makes-me-feel-weird-but-I-just-can’t-quit-it things. I like to explore the situations that drive normal people to do bad stuff. I like looking at the creepy little phantoms in your peripheral vision. But not always.
My work varies from the naturalistic to the heightened and absurd.
Scripts (unproduced)
Numerika (Feature screenplay)
Karl Harlow is an American insurance claims investigator. His company has sent him to a European spa town to investigate a deadly workplace accident. As Karl grows suspicious of this death and of this town, a Kafkaesque pursuit of a murderer puts more than his life in danger.
Death, paranoia, and dark comedy in a surreal 1920s.
Candyflipping: A Netflix Original (Full-length play)
Two twins walks into a house party. Eva is engaging, the life of the party - an actress on the ascent. Kate is barefoot and grieving. Teddy’s there too, with his eyes on Kate.
The wedding is in five-hundred and seventy two days.
I Am Loving It (Radio play)
Moscow, 1990. It’s opening day at the Soviet Union’s first McDonald’s restaurant. Stationed at his cash register, young Alexander is witnessing the end of history. It’s come in a strange form: sandwiches designed behind the Iron Curtain.
The Hothouse (hour-long TV pilot)
Mr. Bobbin dreamed, once, of becoming a marine biologist. He now runs the Tómelas Tobacco factory in Tampa, Florida, where cigars - if not dreams - are made. But Bobbin isn’t here. Bobbin is on a return flight from an H.R.-mandated wellness retreat in Norway, and his staff is busy running things in his absence.
Bobbin doesn’t dream much now, because he doesn’t sleep much now. Is that why he’s begun hearing the disembodied voice of his dead father?
